As Henry dies, he retraces his life with Valerie, his wife of 30 years, while a benevolent spirit disguised as a fisherman guides him through the many facets. He discovers in death that his positive attitude during his life has shaped the lives of everyone he's touched. With Henry's final breath, the thrust of his concern is getting back to Valerie. The spirit slowly leads him to his next path as Henry fights to stay with his only love. It culminates in his resigning to the fact that it's time to leave and she must continue without him.
